Here’s my response to this week’s challenge:

Comments
  1. Someone sent me a list on Twitter of absurd examples of “poor design”, concluding that there is no God. One of his hateful examples of “poor design” is the existence of Michelle Bachmann!

  2. It is still morning when i’m watching this, just thought you might like to know 🙂

  3. gericho49 says:

Typically one hears, “You talk of design!! 99.99999999 % of the universe is hostile to life. How could that possibly be designed”

Problem is the Design and Fine-tuning argument is not about the weather on Pandora or how inhospitable the surface of Mars is to support life?
Its about the initial conditions of the Big Bang, its about the rate of expansion that allows stars and galaxies to form, its about the strong and weak nuclear forces that permit 112 elements to exist and support carbon-based life. Its about the innumerable number of physical paramenters and independent physical constants that make our finite universe, rationally intelligible, law-abiding and life-permitting. Its about a single universe hypothesis that is not only possible if Theism is true, but inevitable and absurdly unlikely if mindless matter and energy is the only game in town..
