Is the Bible so corrupt it can’t be trusted? I ask Alan Shlemon to respond to this common challenge from Muslims:

The Bible is corrupted which is confirmed by theQuran, it is a Christian myth that the Quran claims the Bible is not corrupt. The Torah, the Gospel and Psalms were all given by God, no Muslim denies this, however so these books did become corrupt over time. Matt and Christians should not miss-interpret the Quranic stand point on this issue. The ORIGINAL Torah, Gospel,and Psalms no longer exist.
Here are a couple of verses which do indeed show Bible corruption:

YUSUFALI: Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:”This is from Allah,” to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.
This verse is referring to the children of Israel ;the whole section starting from verse 25 onwards is about the children of Israel . So hence here we see a clear verse speaking of Bible corruption, some of the children of Israel wrote their own books and said it is from God. So basically this means they made copies and added their own ideas and desires and said thisis from God, and when you do this over a long period of time the original book gets lost and isgone and that is what happened. So they wrote books with their own hands and claimed it is from God i.e. the Torah.

YUSUFALI: That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
Here is another explicit verse speaking of Biblecorruption, the Quran states that if anyone believes that Jesus died and was crucified they then follow nothing but CONJECTURE which is corruption. Which book today tells us that Jesusdied and was crucified? The Bible, so hence the Quran here does call the Bible corrupt. So it can’t get anymore clear than that.

YUSUFALI: But because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them- barring a few – ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind.
Another verse showing Bible corruption, this is referring to the Jews. They changed the words from their right places; this could be miss-interpret or miss-quote or change the words and put them in different places than they originally were. Each one is a corruption ofthe book.

We christians do not hold the quran to have any credibility at all, hence we cannot take you seriously using the quran to prove the “corruption” of the bible.
You say that allah revealed the Torah, Gospel and Psalms but this was apparently corrupted by christians. If this is true then we christians have proven allah to be incompetent and have proven the quran to be a lie. According to the undermentioned surah none can change the words of allah. Guess what, we christian did and have proven surah 6:114-115 false.
Yusuf Ali: [006:114] Say: “Shall I seek for judge other than God? – when He it is Who hath sent unto you the Book, explained in detail.” They know full well, to whom We have given the Book, that it hath been sent down from thy Lord in truth. Never be then of those who doubt. [006:115] The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all.
Also you have stated that the Torah, Gospel and Psalms is no longer in existence. Another proof that allah is not capable of preserving his revelations.
Surah 4:157 merely proves allah’s incompetence and in no way justifies that the bible is corrupted. See my post under my blog, murtadd.wordpress.com on this specific surah titled “allah’s lost opportunity”.
My blog is still in its infancy, but I will soon post proof that the quran you have is not so authentic. I will also proof that muhammed could not be taken seriously as a “prophet” as he lacked credibility and sanity.
