What is the theory of Intelligent Design? Super-smart guy Dr. William Dembski (he actually has TWO Ph.D.s) offers a helpful definition:
A smart guy indeed! But his PhDs are in mathematics and philosophy. It’s odd that he’s commenting on biology, an area outside his expertise.
We’ve had examples of Nobel laureates (Linus Pauling and William Shockley) who wandered outside their areas of expertise and didn’t do so well. The same is true here.
I get my biology from biologists.
Bob, it is perhaps best to point up any flaws you perceive rather than dabble in blatant fallacies in the species of ad hominem and genetic.
There’s no need to get important information about biology from anywhere but the consensus within biology. That’s all I’m advocating. Is that a fallacy?
I completely agree. And the same is true with theology. It’s always best to get your information from those who have studied the field diligently. I’m amazed at how much stock people put in Oprah’s theological opinions.
