Yeah cool video about religion,
A shame about the Catholic theology embedded within,
For Jesus did not build His church upon Peter,
But upon his CONFESSION that Christ is the Messiah.
To be fair, CA, the video itself doesn’t explicitly make that claim about Peter, nor do I think it even meant to suggest it, as it would be a complete non sequitur. The Matthew 16 citation fits naturally with Fr. Pontifex’s argument that Christ himself approved of–indeed established–religion in the institution of his church. No need to read any papal argument into it.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t religion basically an organized set of theological beliefs?
Religion is very hard to define.
